Cape Fear River Watch was awarded a 3-year Environmental Enhancement Grant to help improve water quality, reduce litter, and engage the community in Burnt Mill CreekBurnt Mill Creek is an urban waterway in the heart of Wilmington. During the walk, as we search for wildlife, you will learn about the ecosystem, environmental issues, and our ongoing restoration work in this watershed. Burnt Mill Creek is a hotspot for wildlife including turtles, fish and crustaceans, alligators, and more than 190 bird species.  

This tour is free and open to all ages. Please consider bringing: sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), plenty of water, and comfortable walking shoes. We have a limited amount of binoculars available to borrow, but if you have your own pair, feel free to bring them!

We will meet at the parking lot at 2101 Market St. Wilmington, NC 28401 (next to Port City Java and Bridge Church) and walk around 1 mile round-trip through Bullock and Mary Bridgers Park.
