Description

Our November paddle will be a bit different from our regular paddles, so PLEASE READ BELOW!!!

We are partnering with Kayak Carolina for a day of paddling on the Cape Fear River to support Western North Carolina! We are asking for donations to directly support WNC! You can donate here on the Kayak for Carolina website or the day of the paddle. You do not have to attend the paddle to donate - any donation amount helps our neighbors to the West!

Kemp Burdette, our Riverkeeper, will lead one paddle at 11 am along the Cape Fear River. This paddle will be about four-miles long with a brief stop at Shark's Tooth Island.

Put in location: Riverlights kayak launch (next to Smoke on the Water)

Take out location: River Road Park kayak launch

This is the only place that you can register for the Cape Fear River Watch paddle led by Kemp and rent a CFRW boat!

If you're interested in a different paddle, Kayak Carolina will be guiding other paddles throughout the day as well. They are offering a nine-mine, four-mile and three-mile paddle, which all leave at various times. These paddles are led by Kayak Carolina. For more information on these paddles click here.

Meet at the CFRW office at 617 Surry St. at 10:00 am OR at the Riverlights kayak launch at 10:30 am

We encourage all paddlers to wear a PFD, and we require all paddlers using CFRW boats to wear one. Other items to remember include sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water, and snacks.

We have a limited number of boats available for rent for CFRW members ($25 per boat; includes PFD and paddle). If you would like to rent a boat please indicate such during your registration.

If you would like to join or renew before the paddle, you can click here to join or renew or call our office at 910-762-5606.

If you need help the day of please call Kemp at 910-264-8036. Conditions may change in the period leading up to the paddle. Please check your email the night before and the morning of the paddle to ensure that the paddle has not been cancelled.
